Joe Cosas, renaissance man, runs Blue Couch Studio as a producer, music director, performer, and educator. Joe tours with Jon Anderson (lead singer of YES and Rock And Roll Hall of Famer) as his keyboardist, music director, and utility musician covering trombone, banjo, vocoder, mandolin, and acoustic guitar.  He music directs the contemporary service at St. Paul (>17K members), the Gospel service at St. Joseph, and the award-winning Hit Factory Band.  Joe’s multi-instrumental and production talents have allowed him to produce and record projects with award-winning musicians, including John Blackwell (Prince/Justin Timberlake/Lauren Hill), Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), Jonathan Powell (Snoop Dogg/Kool & the Gang/Eddie Palmieri), and Jonathan Thomas (Ascend the Hill). He has performed on the radio and television several times.  He also has performed live, notably with Todrick Hall (MTV), Kurt Hugo Schneider (8.8+million YouTube subs), R. Anthony (Voice/Commodores), Caroline Glaser (Voice), Shevonne Philidor (America’s Got Talent – AGT), Justin Rhodes (AGT), Ali Stroker (Glee/Glee Project), Mike MacArthur (Roger Waters/Frankie Valli/K.C. & the Sunshine Band), Fernando Diez (Gloria Estefan/K.C & the Sunshine Band), Mike Gordon (Phish), Phil Magallanes (Arturo Sandoval/Engelbert Humperdinck/Debbie Gibson), and Early Clover (Coasters).  He co-wrote Middle Rhythm Session’s “Ragamuffin,” which has been downloaded over 1 million times and nominated for a Florida Grammy. He boasts a discography of 15 albums, all available on iTunes.  Recently Joe released his first solo album, “Soundtrack to the Everyday Life,” to a sold out audience at the Straz Center’s TECO Theater. Jason Crosby (Allman Brothers/Bruce Springsteen/Phil Lesh & Friends/Susan Tedechi) worked on the album as a consultant.  Joe teaches both Skype and in-person lessons with specialties in musicianship and artist development.  Some of his students include Cade Larson (Cade), Conor Lynch (Parrotfish), and Makenzie Raye.  He volunteers internationally with alcohol and drug recovery groups, and also has taken international music mission trips to the Philippines and Haiti. His wife, Rebecca, is a part-time professional harpist, organist, and pianist.  He has a 4 year old daughter and a 1 year old son.
