A avowed fan of strong female songwriters such as Kacey Musgraves and Sharon Van Etten, Nashville-born Claire Vandiver came to music naturally: her father, Chip Vandiver, is a seasoned guitarist whom Southern music fans may recall from mid-’70s mid-Georgia blues-rockers Southfield. By the time Claire arrived at Daytona State College to study music production, she was already a seasoned performer and soon left school to pursue music full time. She’s presently working on a follow-up to her 2016 debut EP Hot Blood, honing a blues-inflected sound with soulful vocal flourish and emotional introspection that plays just as well in a genteel coffeehouse as a rough ‘n’ tumble roadhouse
