Tampa (via the Bronx) rapper Mike Mass has been recording since he was a teenager, with a slick, soulful style reminiscent of Lupe Fiasco or J. Cole. His performance on Apathy’s No Sad Tomorrow is evidence of his propensity for unconventional beats and hooks.
Born Michael O’Halloran, Mike Mass was previously part of a crew called R.T.T.R. (Road To The Riches), along with fellow wordsmiths Atwaters and Miss Bronx. He is also a producer and spoken word poet and occasional event host. Mike Mass has a positive energy that’s genuine without shedding the realities of modern society and his message reaches the youth as well as his peers.
